San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hello Everyone,
Fishing has been good, great at times. Now the river flow is around 500 cfs. river clarity is 6-7 feet.
Cream midge larva and small 24-26 black midge pupas am. A decent beatis hatch early pm. Then midge emergers, adults late afternoon. Dry fly action at times, mostly terrestrials or midges.
The Beatis are really slow showing up this year. Fishing has been slow in the morning, picking up in the early afternoon.
The fall colors have started but not peaked yet, the salmon snaggers are here in force, to mark the official start of fall on the San Juan river
CATCH & RELEASE fishing has been good with lots of big fish being caught regularly. Good dry fly action most afternoons.

UPPER FLATS TO TEXAS HOLE: Fishing is good in the braids and the upper flats water. The main channel is fishing ok.

TEXAS HOLE to end of the quality waters This area of the river is fishing good. Red larva has been working good below death row.
