San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hello Everyone,
Fishing has been good overall. The river flow is around 500 cfs. river clarity is 6-7 feet. Cream midge larva and small 24-26 black midge pupas am. A decent beatis hatch early pm. Then midge emergers, adults late afternoon. Dry fly action at times, Fishing has been slow in the morning, picking up in the early afternoon.
The fall colors are done. The river is still busy with people. The salmon snaggers are still here in force,

CATCH & RELEASE fishing has been good with lots of big fish being caught regularly. Good dry fly action most afternoons.

UPPER FLATS TO TEXAS HOLE: Fishing has been good in the braids and the upper flats water. The main channel is fishing ok.

TEXAS HOLE to end of the quality waters This area of the river is fishing decent. Red larva has been working in death row.
