San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Fishing has been fair with a occasional good day. River color is still brown gray. Water clarity is less then a foot The lake turn over and the snow melt is the cause. If and when it warms up the river hopefully will clear. The lower flow has opened a good amount of wade able water. The fish are there, but you can't see them. Sill go only where you know it is safe and use a wading staff. If you do not know the area, I strongly suggest hiring a guide. the fish are eating nothing consistence except moss. There is a midge hatch mid am with beatis late am to mid pm. Red larva and black midge pattern have worked best for me.
