San Juan River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone,
The Fall is here and the river is fishing good to great. The cottonwoods are just starting to get there fall colors.
The upper areas have lots of big fish stacked up along the edges of the current seams in the deeper slower runs. Dark bodied midges #24-26 olive,brown,gray ufo's or dark gray pupa's and Krystal flash wings. Early am #22-24 red larva's. Dark streamers.
Afternoons #18-22 midge cluster patterns, dries on the surface.
The braids is fishing good with the kiddy hole holding lots of fish. #24-26 cream or gray UFOs and #24 gray johnny flashes.
The main channel is ok using #22-24 gray UFOs and #22 gray and black big macs. #20-22 Gray foam wing or rs2 in the early afternoon.
The T-hole down to Death row has been fishing really good with the #22 gray UFO' and #22 gray and black big macs. Mark's magic midge {3m} gray and black ribbed or silver wire ribbed kicking tail.
Death Row to Crusher hole is fishing great. Chocolate or gray foam wings when the BWO's are out or Big macs and 3ms if the big midges are on the water.
San Juan River Fishing Forecast:

The San Juan River will be in its full glory over the next few weeks. The Browns are in their fall spawning colors.
The Kokakanee Salmon are on their fall spawn run.
The bass and the rest of the lake all feed on the salmon.
Target Species:

Rainbow and Brown Trout, Bass, Pike, Carp
