Lake Ontario Sandy Creek Rochester area Kings

Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

5/28/08

Well, not alot to say up to this point. the fishing has been down right lousy for the month of may. No rain to flow the creek and a big bubble of cold clear water just seemed to sit right out front. For a few trips before the holiday we were luck if we got a lake trout, (although we were not trying for them. The good news is that since the holiday it seems that the kings are starting to move in the the area. Over the weekend we did some in the upper teens with lots of 1st year class fish in between. Radio reports out of our port said the same.We did here of a few in the low 20# range. Most fish are coming 35-50 feet down. darker colors with a flash of pink or green did the trick. Hopefully I will have more regular and promising reports very soon.

Target Species:

King Salmon
