Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday January 16, 2012.
Well the weather roller coaster continues with it's up and down swings.
This past weekend the temperature dipped into the single digits and yet today the high temperature was in the mid 30 degree range.
Tomorrow the temperature should get to the mid 40 degree range and then later this week it will be back in the single digit range again.
Needless to say that these swings in temperature don't help the ice fishing.
All of the tributaries within Orleans County have started to form ice only to be taken away again by the upswings in temperature.
The good news is that Steelhead/Rainbow fishing remains at a very good level throughout all of our tributaries along with some late Brown trout catches.
With the lack of ice, Perch fishing has been spotty at best.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
