Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday March12, 2012.
Well it seems that for at least this week spring has come early.
With temperatures in the high 50's to the mid 60's and rain off and on for the week, fishing the tributaries of Orleans County should continue to improve.
There are reports of some excellent Brown trout fishing from the piers of Oak Orchard and from small boats very close to shore.
In the tributaries of Orleans County there are still fresh Steelhead/Rainbow trout being caught but with lower and clearer water this fish are harder to hook up.
On the Oak improving catches of Perch are being reported from the bridges all the way north to the point.
On Lake Alice catches of both Bullhead and Bluegills are being reported around the Waterport bridge area.
Just a reminder that Walleye fishing season closes this Thursday (March 15th) and re-opens the 1st Saturday in May.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
