Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday August 27, 2012.
Yesterday was the Awards Ceremony for the Fish Odyssey Derby.
The greatest part was the number and excitement of the youth.
If you are looking for a great way to introduce your child to fishing, there is no better way than this derby.
Congratulations to all of the winners.
On the inland waters of Orleans County both Crappie and Bluegill seem to have slow slightly at the Waterport Bridge but have picked up on Glenwood Lake.
Northern pike fishing is good to very good on all of the inland waters as is the Smallmouth bass.
Gar pike are being taken at the bridges on the Oak.
On Lake Ontario there is a good mixed bag of cold water species in the 10 to 100 feet of water range with some staging kings already moving in.
Dipsys back 120 to 140 feet and riggers set at 60 to 70 feet down are very active.
There is also active fish our around the 30 line for those who like to be a little more adventurous.
We are in the final week of the LOC Fall Derby so there is still plenty of time to catch that derby winner.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
