Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday October 29, 2012.
With Hurricane/Tropical storm Sandy breathing down our necks, only time will tell what she has in store for us.
Right now though Perch fishing on the "Oak" has picked up both from boats drifting thru the Marine park and Yacht Club are and also in those areas from shore.
Fishing reports from Lakes Alice and Glenwood are sketchy at best.
The good news is that the "Oak" is alive with Brown trout, Steelhead/Rainbow trout, Atlantic salmon and still some Chinook salmon.
The other tributaries within Orleans County also have good runs of all of these species but with their low water conditions fishing on them is difficult right now.
If we get the rain that has been predicted for our area with the approaching storm, all of the tributaries within Orleans County should become very fishable with moderate to slightly high flows and good stained water.
These conditions should broaden the color pallet that can be used in many different patterns.
With the predicted winds accompanying this storm, fishing on the jetties of the "Oak" may not be the best place to be for the next few days.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
