Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report
Today is Monday November 12, 2012.
Some good size Walleye are being taken in the area of the wide waters of the Erie Canal.
It won't be long before the Erie Canal Corporation starts the DE-watering of the canal so if this is something that is of interest to you, don't wait too long to enjoy it.
Just a reminder to all who are traveling on Route 98 in Orleans County, the Route 98 lift bridge over the Erie Canal is closed for repairs with no completion date given so far.
On Lake Alice good numbers of Crappie are still being taken around the area of the Waterport Bridge.
Oak Orchard River is starting to produce some very good numbers of Perch especially around the Yacht Club area but unfortunately the Orleans County Marine Park is closed for the season limiting access to the area from the East side of the "Oak".
Also on the "Oak" good to very good catches of Brown trout, Rainbow/Steelhead trout, Coho and Atlantic salmon are being reported.
The other tributaries within Orleans County are also reporting good catches of Brown and Rainbow/Steelhead trout considering their lower water levels.
