Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday November 19, 2012.
It seems like most of our fishermen have put down their rods and reels in favor of their guns for the opening of gun deer season.
For those die hard fishermen this is good news because it has greatly reduced the number of people fishing our tributaries within Orleans County.
Even with the lower water levels, both Browns and Steelheads have spread out throughout our tributaries in the deeper pools.
On the "Oak" water flows remain at a moderate level which keeps water clarity in the one to two feet of visibility range.
The smaller tributaries have less flow and water clarity is almost clear.
The only other report that I have received this week is that the Erie Canal around the Holley, New York area is producing some great catches of both Crappie and Bluegill.
With the repairs on the Route 98 Bridge being done from a barge underneath the bridge, I'm not sure if the canal in this area will remain filled for an extended period of time.
I hope that everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving with loved ones.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
