Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday December 3, 2012.
With the dewatering of the Erie Canal and the rain we received yesterday, water levels on all of the tributaries within Orleans County are at best moderate to low flows.
Even with these conditions Brown trout fishing is excellent especially on the "Oak" and Johnson Creek by the Route 18 Bridge area.
That's not to say that fishing for Brown trout isn't good in other tributaries in the area; those are the best area right now.
With the up and down temperature swings of recent weeks, Steelhead fishing is starting off slower than usual but should start picking up as the weather stabilizes into more of a winter pattern.
Perch fishing on the "Oak" around the yacht club area seems to be holding its own with some very good catches being reported.
Could this be the winter when those within Orleans County can enjoy some great Ice fishing?
Only time will tell and only Mother Nature already knows.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
