Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday, February 13, 2013.
With day time temperatures above freezing for the next few days, I would have to say that ice fishing is all but over for this season.
Also with the warmer temperatures flow in the tributaries within Orleans County should be on the rise and should have 1 to 2 foot of visibility.
With this comes the warning of being mindful of your surroundings for with the melting of the snowpack comes the dangers of debris entering the tributaries.
On both Oak Orchard River and Johnson Creek fair to good catches of both Brown trout and Steelhead/Rainbow trout are being taken, with more Steelhead/Rainbow trout than Brown trout being taken.
Baits being used run the full gambit of both live and artificial baits and colors.
Perch fishing is marginal at best where you can find open water.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
