Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday April 3, 2013.
Could today really be the end of winter like weather?
The weather forecast starting tomorrow is for temperatures to be in the high 40's to high 50's well into next week.
Now all we need is some rain to bring our water levels back up to somewhat normal and things would be very good.
The tributaries within Orleans County are flowing at moderate to low levels with clear visibility.
Even with these conditions, spawned and some fresh Steelhead/Rainbow trout are still being taken mostly in the slack water areas of the tributaries.
There have been no reports of more than a few suckers showing up and the Bullhead fishing is yet to come.
On Oak Orchard River, Perch fishing is becoming more consistent from the Bridges area all the way to the Point.
Those casting from the break walls at the point are catching both Brown trout and Steelhead/Rainbow trout using both plugs and spoons.
When weather conditions permit those with smaller boats are doing well working the shoreline waters of Lake Ontario.
Just a reminder that this coming Saturday, April 6th, at 8AM a group will be assembling the holding pens for trout and salmon at Lake Breeze Marina.
Please stop down and lend a hand if you can.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
