Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Well the extended period of above average temperatures and sunny skies are about to be replaced with more seasonable temperatures and some rain.
Let's just hope that the Northeast wind is also replaced with something more favorable.
That Northeast wind has kept the colder water right along the shoreline and has forced all species of cold water fish to scatter, all except for the Lake Trout.
There have been reports of Steelhead/Rainbows trout being taken off the boards straight out at the 29 line.
On Lake Alice the Bluegill bite is becoming more active around both Waterport and Kenyonville bridges.
On the Oak from the bridges area to the Point, good catches of Bullhead, Perch and Silver bass are being reported.
Also on all of the tributaries within Orleans County reports of a good number of Smallmouth bass that are being caught and released is on the rise.
The World Fishing Network has a contest for the Ultimate Fishing Town and presently Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, NY is in second place.
Please go on line to the WFN's website and vote for our area.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
