Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday June 12, 2013.
First for all who may have not heard, Point Breeze has been named the Ultimate Fishing Town for 2013.
Thank all of who helped by voting for us.
Last weekend was the 8th Annual Orleans County Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Pro-Am.
The weather wasn't the best that it could be but a great event took place with team Vision Quest 4 taking first place in the Classic Division and team Yankee Troller winning the West Challenge Cup in both the Classic and Trophy Divisions.
Congratulations to all the winners and to all the other entrees, thank you for participating.
Now that the Pro-Am is over I should be receiving better information on Lake Ontario fishing.
The only report that I have to date is that there is a good bite of Steelhead/Rainbow trout out around the 24 to 26 lines.
With that being said, the current weather conditions cause water to move rather quickly so that may have already changed.
With rain still in the forecast for the end of today and tomorrow, water flows in all of the tributaries within Orleans County should remain at a moderate to slightly high level with stained water.
I still have not been able to get a good report on the Erie Canal fishing to this point.
On Lake Alice the Bluegill and Crappie bite remains steady.
Smallmouth and Largemouth bass fishing is fairly good to good but again Bass season doesn't open until this Saturday, keep practicing catch and release for a few more days.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
