Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday August 7, 2013.
I've received a report that several people have been doing very well fishing for both Gar Pike and Northern Pike on Oak Orchard River near the mouth.
Also on the Oak Perch have been showing up again from the point to the area around the Orleans County Marine Park.
On all of the inland waters within Orleans County, Bass fishing continues to be very good to excellent.
The Bluegill and Crappie fishing seems to have slowed down on Lake Alice and the best place seems to be right around the Waterport Bridge area.
On Lake Ontario fishing is excellent with big Chinook salmon once again the king of the lake.
With shifting winds these monsters are on the move into different depths and East and West of the harbor.
Depth that they are being caught range from 40 to 130 feet down and from 140 to 280 feet back on dipsys.
300, 400 and 500 foot copper rigs are also doing very well along with meat rigs.
Color patterns are all over the place in both spoons along with flasher-fly combinations.
With the derby season now in full swing and increase traffic on the lake, please take a minute to look around you as you are fishing and be respectful of the others close to you by giving others the same room you would like to have.
From Point Breeze New York the 2013 Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
