Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday September 11, 2013.
The weather rollercoaster ride continues well into next week both summer and fall repeating themselves.
If you think that this confuses us you should see what it does to the fish.
Fishing on Lake Ontario is still good to very good with the fish moving closer to shore every week.
Look for Chinook action in the early morning and then again towards evening right around the break wall.
There are reports of both Steelhead/Rainbow trout and Chinook salmon being caught from the jetties when conditions are favorable.
Surprisingly good catches of both Large and Smallmouth bass and Northern pike are being taken all thru the lower stretches of Oak Orchard River all the way to the dam.
The wide water area of the Erie Canal still seems to be the place to fish the canal at least for a few more weeks.
On Lake Alice fishing is up and down with the weather swings.
When you hit it right, good catches of Bluegill and Crappie as well as Smallmouth bass are being taken.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA, and the rest of Orleans County, let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
