Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday October 23, 2013.
The cooler weather and rain of the past several days will continue into the weekend but then temperatures will warm again next week.
These conditions may have caused the runs to extend themselves with numbers of fish spread out over a longer period of time.
Presently there are good numbers of Salmon and Trout in all of the tributaries within Orleans County.
Flows are at a medium level and water clarity is slightly stained.
With the number of leaves dropping there may be fluctuations in water flows in Oak Orchard River when the trash gates at the entrance of the power plant are cleaned.
It seems like every fisherman that I have talked to over the past week has a different super secret lure that is absolutely slaying the fish.
Nymphs, Stone Flies, Woolie Buggers and Egg Sac patterns in black, purple or white were but a few of the hot lure of the day.
On the other fishing fronts, Perch fishing on the Oak is spotty at best right now.
People fishing from the piers at the Point are catching not only the cold water species but also Bass and Northern Pike.
On Lake Alice there are still Bluegill, Crappie and Bass being taken but you really have to work for them.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
