Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report
Today is Tuesday December 31, 2013.
On this last day of 2013, in Orleans County we have snow flurries and cold temperatures.
Water flows in all of our tributaries are at higher levels than normal due to the warming trend we experienced last weekend.
With cold weather in the forecast well into next week, ice will be forming on all the waterways within Orleans County so special care should be taken.
Even with the prediction of the colder temperatures, I'm not sure that we will have "Safe" ice for the frozen water fishermen to enjoy quite yet.
Steelhead/Rainbow trout fishing on the Oak seems to be best in the turbine channel close to the dam and Brown trout fishing is spotty at best.
May 2014 bring each of you great fishing opportunities and may most of them be right here in Orleans County.
