Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday March 5, 2014.
Winter does not seem to want to loosen its grip on our area quite yet.
Temperatures still remain below normal levels into the near future.
On Oak Orchard River there is a good amount of open water from the dam down past the Archer's Club area and even further North.
Fair to good mixed bags of both Steelhead/Rainbow trout and Brown trout are being taken on egg sac patterns and live bait.
Also on Oak Orchard River the ice fishermen are plying their trade around the Lake Breeze Marina and 4 C's Marina area, but I have no reports of how successful they have been.
There is plenty of ice on Lake Alice but not much effort is taking place as of late.
It looks like there is a possibility of a slight break in the weather towards the weekend and into next week which should improve things on all of the tributaries within Orleans County.
With only 15 days left until spring, think warm soft water.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
