December 19, 2011
Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday December 19, 2011.
Winter's first day is December 21st but evidently not in Western New York.
The forecast for the rest of the week and beyond is temperatures above freezing everyday and well into 2012.
For the tributaries within Orleans County the good news is that the Steelhead/Rainbow trout catches are at a great level with these fish being taken on all of our tributaries.
The Brown trout catches are still good but they are starting to wane as the season goes on.
Water levels on all of our tributaries are at a normal to slightly above normal level and the water clarity has cleared to the 1 to 2 foot range.
Due to the above normal temperatures that we are experiencing Perch fishing remains spotty yet some with small boats are doing fairly well from the Point south to the bridges on the Oak.
From all of us in Orleans County, we wish all of you and yours the happiest and safest of holidays.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
