Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday June 18, 2012.
Fishing on the inland waters of Orleans County has been nothing short of spectacular this past week.
Smallmouth Bass are plentiful on all of the inland waters.
Speaking of Bass, the DEC is asking for your help with a Bass Angler Diary Program.
If you are interested please contact the DEC at [email protected].
On Glenwood Lake both Smallmouth Bass and Carp have been plentiful.
Just a reminder that the 2nd annual Glenwood Lake Carp Derby will take place this coming Saturday.
Lake Alice is producing some giant Bluegill and Crappie along with good size Smallmouth Bass.
The evening bite seems to be producing the larger fish.
The 3 bridges area of Marsh Creek has been very good for Rock Bass, Bluegills and Smallmouth Bass.
Both the Lower Oak and the stretch of the Oak between Glenwood Lake and Lake Alice have been very good for Smallmouth Bass.
Another reminder that the Erie Canal Derby begins on July 4th this year.
The comments that I am hearing from Lake Ontario is that fishing is "On Fire".
All species are being taken inside the 200 foot of overall depth on big spoons, flasher or spinner and flies, main lines and sliders, lead lines, copper and dispys.
It sounds like just pick a spot and start fishing.
Let's make every day and great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
