Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday August 6, 2014.
Most of the tributaries and smaller lakes within Orleans County are muddy from the runoff caused by all of the rain we have had over the past several days.
With clearer conditions predicted for the rest of the week and into next week, those conditions should quickly clear.
On Lake Ontario conditions have remained fairly constant for the past week but it looks like some changes may be quickly arriving.
The bad news on the lake is the spiny water fleas which, depending on where you are fishing range from light to extremely heavy.
The good news is that the inside waters are starting to set up and if the wind conditions remain steady could make for a great Brown trout fishery at a minimum.
The outside waters still offers a good Steelhead/Rainbow trout fishery with an occasional Chinook salmon thrown into the mix.
With the Orleans County Rotary Club Derby in full swing, some nice catches are finding their way to the leader board.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
