Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday August 13, 2014.
Well it's finally happened, Lake Ontario waters have flipped and the near shore water is much colder than the off shore waters.
The lake hasn't really warmed up as much as it normally does which has made this an unusual year to start with and now the lake flipping has to have the fish wondering just where they are.
Reports from yesterday puts the best fishing out around the 30 to 34 lines with the largest portion of the catch being Steelhead trout.
Over the past week some very large Domestic Rainbow trout in the 10 to 14 pound range have been taken.
The end of this week is a busy time with the Fall LOC Derby beginning on Friday August 15th, the Niagara Fish Odyssey starting Saturday August 16th and the Orleans County Rotary Club Derby ending on Sunday August 17th.
That means on Saturday and Sunday you have the opportunity to fish in 3 different derbies.
On the tributaries and inland lakes within Orleans County fishing for Bass has been very good and for Crappie, Bluegill and Perch fair.
The weather for the rest of this week and into next week shows the chance of rain over the weekend.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
