Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday August 20, 2014.
Just when the Kings start showing up in good numbers, the weather stands ready to put a real damper on things.
Rain and thundershowers are predicted for the rest of the week along with winds from the east and south east.
Will those winds be strong enough to flip the lake again or at least blow the present setup apart?
The reports over the last several days have Brown trout close to shore with Kings and Steelhead/Rainbow trout scattered from the 26 line out to the mid 30 line.
Riggers are set anywhere from 40 to 110 feet down and dipsys from 140 to 280 feet back.
Although spoons are still taking fish the transition to flasher and fly rigs is in full swing.
On Oak Orchard River in the upstream area fair to good catches of Bass, Perch and panfish are being reported.
Lake Alice fishing seems to be slow right now except for some fair to good catches of Bass.
Remember that the Greater Niagara Fish Odyssey runs thru this Sunday, August 24th and the Fall LOC Derby runs thru September 1st.
For the fishermen and boaters using Oak Orchard Harbor, the dredging unit is scheduled to arrive towards the end of this week to begin work on the harbor entrance.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
