Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday September 3, 2014.
With Labor Day signaling the end of a very busy fishing derby time of the year, Lake Ontario fishing should be ebbing and the tributary fishing should be on the upswing.
With the very unusual weather patterns of this past spring and summer, I'm not sure what to expect over the next few weeks.
Chinook salmon have finally showed up in numbers on the mid to inside waters so we may see an extended lake fishing season.
Yet there are already reports of some Chinooks in the tributaries looking around for their territory so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
With the weatherman still offering plenty of summerlike weather, I wouldn't put the boat away quite yet.
On Oak Orchard River catches of both Bass and Walleye are being reported but not much is being said about Perch fishing.
On Lake Alice catches of both Bluegill and Crappie seem to be down but Bass fishing is holding its own.
The stretch of water between Lake Alice and Glenwood Lake seems to be doing very well for Bass.
The Erie Canal, especially the wide water area, seems to be producing a variety of species.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
