Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday November 5, 2014.
Some rain over the past few days have helped somewhat with water flow in the tributaries within Orleans County.
Along with that, the cooler weather is contributing to cooler water temperatures which have fish migrating to their spawning areas.
More rain and much cooler temperatures are in the forecast for the rest of this week and into next week should keep the migration moving.
On Oak Orchard River, those fishing from small boats are catching Perch, Bass, Northern Pike and an occasional Dog Fish.
Most of the action is occurring around the Yacht Club and Marine Park area.
In the upper reaches of the Oak good numbers of Brown trout, Steelhead/Rainbow trout along with some Chinooks are being taken.
At the Waterport Dam, Brookfield Power has some long handled nets on the west side of the Tailrace Channel to assist fishermen in landing their catch.
Brookfield has also said that they are working on a plan to improve conditions in that area by next season.
For more information please go to www.orleanscountyfishing.com.
Egg Sacs, Egg Sucking Leaches, Wooly Buggers and Stone Flies are the most mentioned baits.
On Lake Alice the best catches still seem to be Small Mouth bass, but catches of Bluegill and Crappie are on the rise.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day tight here in Orleans County.
