Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday December 17, 2014.
The snow melt and rain of the past several days have served to bring the water flows in the tributaries within Orleans County from very low to between low and medium flows, and water clarity from clear to medium stained conditions.
With water temperatures in the mid 30 degree range, both Brown and Steelhead/Rainbow trout should be on the move.
Also any shore ice should be cleared making for some great fishing conditions for you to enjoy.
Baits in the chartreuse and orange colors tipped with some type of live bait should lure some active fish as well as some of the standard baits, wooly Buggers, Egg sucking leaches and a variety of egg patterns.
Of course one can never leave out one of the Oaks most productive baits, Mark's Carpet Fly.
Fishing on the lower portion of the Oak has slowed somewhat during this mild weather pattern but should pick up again as the weather turns to more seasonal temperatures.
With next week being the holiday week, fishing pressure on all of the waters within Orleans County should be light so why not take a day and come to enjoy all that we have to offer.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
