Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Tuesday December 23, 2014.
Due to the Christmas Holiday falling mid week this year and News Years next week I've decided to do my fishing report on Tuesday for this week and next.
With the temperatures the rest of this week well above normal and rain in the forecast, fishing conditions on all of the tributaries within Orleans County should be slightly above normal.
Good water flows and slightly stained water should be the key to some great tributary fishing, allowing fish to migrate the streams.
The only downside seems to be for the solid water fishermen, in that they will have to wait a little longer to ply their sport.
Brown trout and Rainbow/Steelhead trout can be found on all of our tributaries in fairly good numbers.
Egg sacs, egg sucking leeches, wooly buggers, carpet flies and all egg patterns are working well especially when tipped with some type of live bait.
On the lower reaches of the Oak, Perch numbers remain slightly low but that may be attributed to some very large Northern pike that are being taken.
This holiday season is a great time to sit back and reflect on just how wonderful and lucky we are to live in a country that has all that we have.
May these holidays bring to each of you and your families Happiness, Heath and Peace.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
