Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday January 14, 2015.
Daytime highs will finally get out of the single digits this week and into next week but will remain below freezing.
With the low water conditions on most of the tributaries within Orleans County most are either frozen over or at least have slush and shore ice formed.
There are the usual areas of the Oak that remain open due to faster moving waters and those area are producing Steelhead/Rainbow trout and also an occasional Brown trout.
Egg sucking Leeches, Woolie Buggers and Egg Patterns are the most mentioned flies.
Although the weather has been cold, the ice in most areas is not sufficient for ice fishing to begin in most of the normal areas.
With the continuing cold temperatures that should change by the end of the week.
On Lake Alice there is some ice fishing taking place near the shoreline close to the Kenyonville Bridge but no reports on what is being caught yet.
This weekend, January 16-18, I will be attending the Cleveland Outdoor Adventure Show.
If you are in the area stop by booth 425 and say hi.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, Right here in Orleans County.
