Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report
Today is Wednesday February 4, 2015.
Remember the song "There'll be a change in the weather"?
Well that's not going to happen around here any time soon.
The colder than normal temperatures seem to just continue on.
Snow Sunday and Monday has brought our total snow fall for the year to a more normal level which should give us a good melt off when spring does arrive and create some great tributary fishing.
Right now the happiest fishermen are those who participate in the hard water fishery.
The only open water that I am aware of is Oak Orchard River from the power plant down past the Archer's Club area.
They are still catching both steelhead and brown trout close to the dam for those who have the patience.
They are ice fishing on Lake Alice, on the Oak by the bridges area, down by the County Marine Park and also by the marina area but no reports of what is being taken.
Starting this Saturday and for nine days I will be in the LOSPC booth at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
