Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
First I would like to congratulate the winners of the second leg of the Niagara Pro-Am series.
The 12 fish Classic Division was won by team 5 More Minutes and the 5 fish Trophy Division was won by team Oh Baby.
The overall cup for those 2 divisions, decided by the combined scores of both weeks events were Yankee Troller for the Trophy Division and a tie in the Classic division between team Thrillseeker and team 5 More Minutes.
This weekend 31 teams will participate in the 2nd annual Oak Orchard Open Tournament, with its new format of 5 salmon and 5 trout.
As if this format isn't challenging enough the rain and east-northeast winds predicted should add to the challenge.
Naturally with the tournament being this weekend, information is almost impossible to get but I did hear that some of the best fishing over the last week or so seems to be east of the point and in the 25 to 27 line area.
I'm surprised that I got that much information.
This weekend is the Strawberry Festival held in Albion and for the first time there will be a fishing pond for the kids to enjoy.
Lake Alice is still active with Bluegill, Crappie and bass especially around the Kenyonville Bridge area.
On the Erie Canal fishing is picking up for most of the warm water species.
Please remember that bass season doesn't open until the 3rd Saturday of this month so continue practicing catch and release.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the World Fishing Networks Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day Right here in Orleans County.
