Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday September 2, 2015.
Temperatures for the next week or so are supposed to be above normal for this time of year.
There are some winds from an easterly direction in the forecast but hopefully they will not be strong enough to do much damage to the water conditions.
Yesterday the 60 to 100 feet of water range was very active with mature salmon and today they seem to be just diving away.
What a difference just one day can make.
It may just be that it will be a late bite today.
Yesterday the bite seemed to be on J-plugs, flasher/fly combinations, meat rigs, and spoons on downriggers, dipsy divers, lead lines and copper rigs.
There has even been some action early in the morning and late evening around the pier heads.
On Lake Alice they are still picking up some Bluegills and Crappie around the Waterport Bridge and of course bass throughout Lake Alice.
The Erie Canal is still the place to be for a multitude of fish species.
On the lower portion of the Oak Bass and Northern pike are still very active.
Congratulations to all of the winners in the 39th Greater Niagara Fish Odyssey which ended this past Sunday.
Word has it that there will be some very special things happening next year in the 40th event.
The 2015 Fall LOC Derby will wrap up on Monday September 7th this year so there is still time to enter and grab some of that fantastic prize money that is available.
Finally the final leg of the King of the Oak series will be held this Sunday, September 6th, where the king of the Oak will be crowned.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
