Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday December 23, 2015.
The majority of the precipitation that we so badly need seems to continually swing to the south of our area which means that water flow in our tributaries is low to very low.
Add to this the fact that due to the low water flow the tributary temperatures drop below the Lake Ontario temperature at night, and most fish are either in the deeper pools or still in the lake.
That is not to say that there are not fish being caught, especially in the "Oak", just not the numbers that one would find on a more normal weather year.
Perch are still being caught in the lower stretches of the "Oak" mainly around the Yacht Club area.
On Lake Alice Perch, Bass and Bluegill are still being caught but at a slower pace than earlier in the month.
During this holiday season I hope that you spend quality time with family and friends, sharing all the blessings that have been bestowed upon you and yours.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
