Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday April 13, 2016.
Could it possibly be that spring is going to arrive, weather wise, this weekend?
Reports are for clear weather and temperatures in the 50 to 60 degree range.
Of course with winds out of some northerly direction, the shoreline will be much cooler.
When the winds allow, boaters are doing well on brown trout and some lake trout especially around the mouth of Oak Orchard River.
Yesterday, Tuesday, when we stocked our pen fish surface temperatures were in the low to mid 40's on the "Oak".
Speaking of pen stocked fish, if you are in the area why not stop and sign up for a feeding time.
These fish and the care of them while they are in the pens will reflect the future of our fishery so please help when you can.
This morning the surface temperature on Lake Alice was 40 degrees.
With the warming trend over the next days and no precipitation in the forecast temperatures should be on the rise.
Bluegills and Crappie are still being caught but not in great numbers and perch are just starting up.
Lastly there are only 3 weeks and 1 day left to get your entry in for the spring LOC Derby.
Don't miss your chance to cash in on this great derby.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
