Long Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Captain Robin Calitri of LongIslandFlyFishing.com, just returned from some work and play in Tahoe, Napa and Sonoma. Between the wet weather and Dophins scaring up the fish I guess there wasn't too much to Miss. Emory Butts and Mitch Bernstein did some scouting and found small blues all over the sound and some real slammers under the Bunker in Huntington Bay. Tins, poppers and sluggoes were effective. Tres Amigos, Joel Weiss, Don Vogel and Dana Thompson slammed the small blues off of LILCO on Monday night.

Jime DelGsosso reportsbass to 25 inches and blues around the South end ofGardiner's. Captain Scot Calitri reports Bas and Blues mixed with Bluefin Tuna off Jefferies and Stelweggen. He fishes out of Portsmouth NH and will launch at Glouchester Mass to get to these beasts. One report had a 300 pounder taken on a spinning rod.

Gerry Mceneaney and Gerry Muro joined Captain Robin's Csicagain on Wednesday for a quick trip . There were cocktail blues all over, some small fluke, sea robins and some 2 pound porgies willing to jump on the fly or Hopkins. Now is the time when we begin to start scouting the Sound for the wily Bonito. Stay Tuned!
