Long Island - Saltwater Fishing Report
we had the dave lewis charter out for a canyon tuna trip. we had great weather with calm seas. we headed to the hudson canyon. when we arrived at 7am i decided to do a tilefish drop before we started Trolling for Tuna. We had 10 nice Tilefish in short oder. then we set up for the troll.some of the boats ahead of us hooked up with tuna. we trolled all the way up the east wall across to the west wall with nary a touch. so i decided to go pot hopping for mahi Mahi. the 1st 3 pots we checked were empty. then we found the mother lode on one pot. it was like an Aquarium! it was loaded with Mahi mahi and triggerfish! we proceeded to bail the fish for an hour straight! we tallyed 60 Mahi Mahi and 11 triggerfish all caught on light tackle! the guys had a blast and had plenty of Fillets to go around!
P.S. We hjave openings next Month if you want to get in on this hot action!
