Long Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

ON Sat We took out the gus kosta charter. we ran 40 miles to the Rockpiles area. We set up our slick in green 68 Degree water. within an hour we had a Mako swim into the slick. We pitched a mackerel bait at it and hooked it up. Gus fought it well And made quick work of the 125lb. male Mako. He decided to keep it since it was his first Shark ever. So we gaffed and Tailroped it and headed home early. once we got in cell range I got a msg that another party wanted to go out for shark in the afternoon. so after getting more chum I took out joe mahamed and sal out to 25 fathoms south of Moriches. after an hour a 50 lb. mako pup hit the middle baid. mahamed made short work of the female and after some pics was tagged and released.then an hour later a bigger mako pup around 75 lbs. came in and joe fed it the throw bait and fought it well. it made 3 nice runs before coming boatside for pics and release. 3 makos for day 1. on sun we went out with kevin and mike and headed to 30 fathoms. after 1 can of chum only tinker mackerel showed up no sharks so I decided to move into 25 fathoms. here we had several runoffs and only one blueshark tagged and released.
we have openings if your interested in joining us.
