Upper Hudson River Stripers

Capt. Jimmy Samia
April 5, 2012
New York Bight - Freshwater Fishing Report

We are getting the charter boat ready for the upcoming annual spring striper run. There has been a lot of hoopla brought on by the easy winter and unseasonably mild temperatures that we have been experiencing. As of right now there are no large biomass of sea run stripers in our area. I anticipate that they will be arriving by the third week of April or so if the weather remains the same. There have been reliable reports of some river herring in the creeks and river in our area. This is certainly a good sign of things to come.

Target Species:

Striped bass
