Feels like Spring on the Salmon River

Capt. Todd and Robin Sheltra
March 21, 2010
Pulaski - Freshwater Fishing Report

Spring has come very early this year. We are 2 - 3 weeks ahead of schedule with temps most days in the 50's and 60's. We have almost no snow left, it has all melted and found it's way into the creeks and rivers making for some slower fishing as of late. Water temps are in the low to mid 30's and are the coldest they have been all year. Most of the steelies are pre-spawn right now, making them more stubborn than normal. Most days right now, 2 - 3 fish landed should be the norm with some days being better than others. It will pick up very soon. We go through this slowing in the action every Spring at some point. We just never know when exactly it will be. Here are some pics from yesterdays trip.

Target Species:

Steelhead and Brown Trout
