Lake Ontario Fishing Report

Capt. Troy Creasy
August 13, 2009
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

What a beating Lake Ontario trollers have taken this season. Gail winds, cold temps, scattered fish and a poor economy has certainly tried everyone's patience.

Now for just a few days we get a small taste of what summer used to fee like, we get to rest our backs and allow our brusies to heal and the salmon still want to play hide and seek.

Sure we pick a few each day and the brown trout fishing has been first class, but it is August and we want salmon dammit!

So when will the big numbers show up in the eastern basin? I hope tomorrow and I will let you know for sure.

All of our fish our coming on e-chips & Spin Dr's in green, white, mountain dew and chrome with Atomik flies in the Big Fin glow, Hammer, Hypnotist, green glow and the #41 fly. I know that many others are working too but that has been our pattern. We also hit a few on Luhr Jensen J-Plugs up in the warmer water.

Target Species:

salmon & trout
