Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Which way will the wind blow next?
Hard south winds switching to hard west and northwest along with cold water temperatures are making a good catch a real challenge some days.
Brown trout are biting but you need to be in the right place at the right time and that place changes everyday.
Fish from 6 to 20 feet depending on were you find bait. Run smithwicks and rapala's off the boards in Black & Silver and black / silver / orange.
Stretch them back 100 to 150 feet and run 2.0 to 2.8 mph. Try spoons like Michigan stingers and Raiders in Black silver white belly, orange killer. hitman, gator and rosemary's baby. Run them down 3 to 12 feet. Water temp is 40 to 50 degrees on the open water.
Sandy Pond anglers are catching walleye close to the channel along with some nice catches of crappies and bluegills
Now is the time to schedule a lake charter, as area charter captains are available for Spring and Summer lake charters. Take the kids fishing, it will be a quality experience that they will not forget.
