Salmon River, Lake Ontario, Fishing Report 4/ 29/07
Water is high but the fishing is on fire!! They are everywhere. what a tremendous week this has been. I put the net under more fish in the last 8 days than I did all of 2007. Not sure if that is good or bad, but it is the truth.
Between high water, chasing fish and scooping them on the fly, constant rain and three guys in the boat. (What the hell am I doing with thre in the boat)? I have not taken a lot of pictures. But here are a few.
Long time guest Gary Hineman with one of many.
Chuck with a beautiful male. Water on the lens kind of spoiled it. Chuck please e-mail me all of your other photos. I have no pictures of Steve! How can we have no pics of the master. Thanks.
Gary and his son Mike came from my home town for their fisrt float trip. They still have no clue as to how good they really did. Two doulbes to start the day and a fish in almost every spot we stopped at for the entire day. Yes it was raing all day, again.
Water on the damn lens again.
Top to bottom these guys drilled them.
I hear nothing but good things from the lake. Browns are being caught from Nine mile point, west to Sodus. Stickbaits off the boards and spoons on the riggers 5 to 20 FOW.
Despite cold weather this is shaping up to be a banner spring season. Are you here yet??
The steelhead fishing is just going to go and go and go. I wish I didn't have to start lake fishing next week. You just never know. Temps are being forcasted to stay in the 40's and 50's all week. The water is still cold and high and the trout are biting. Come and get-um.
Troy
