Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Well the boys today decided to pass on the 30 mph winds and white out conditions. We met before dawn and it appears that some boats sucked it up and others tucked their tails. Guess I am getting old. Ten years ago, I would have been out there without a second thought. Today, I give the sports the option. It's always a tough call. If we don't go, they catch no fish and I don't get paid. If we go and they have a bad experience, then I may never see them again.
Anyway, The fishing on the river is OK at best. Fish are really scattered and you need to cover a lot of water to find them.
I was out west on Thursday and the Oak has a good flow and plenty of browns. Richard had a great day, (See pictue) landing about ten fish up to ten pounds. Russ, Struggled, hooking a few but still had a pleasant day, I will continue to move back and forth and everywhere in between over the next month or so in search of Trophy Trout. I still have some good dates open in December, but the Spring is booking fast. Don't wait on making your reservations for March and April. Good Luck. Troy.
