Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Heat Wave! 35 Degrees
Our Underwater Camera seminar that we conducted on Sunday was a big success I want to thank all the sponsors, Walker Downriggers The Oswego Econolodge Dunkin Donuts Larry’s Salmon Shop S&B Tackle A-Tom-Mik Trolling Flies R&R Tackle Lil Flipper Charters Lake Ontario Outdoors Congratulations go out to Jeff Beliveau of North Stonington, CT. Jeff was the winner of the grand prize. A complete color strike vision system. A $1,200.00 prize! I will have some pictures up soon. All of the attendees went out the door with numerous door prizes that were donated bt the sponsors. Thanks to everyone that attended and helped out.
With warmer temps this weekend, diehard steelhead anglers flocked to the upper slamon river in hopes of tying into some steelhead, that have been tucked under the ice for over two weeks. Many anglers had success on Saturday altough all the ice and deep snow makes it tough to get to the Hot Spots. Egg sacs and small estaz flies continue to take most of the fish. Use light 4lb. test flourocarbon leaders and small #12 hooks for better success.
Ice fishing is real good as hardy anglers have been pounding big perch on Sodus Bay, Blind Sodus Bay and in Fair Haven. Sndy Pond Fisherman are doing well on northerns and crappie as well as some perch.
If you don't ice fish or snowmobile, this is a good time to catch up on things around the house and prepare your tackle for the next time we get a warming trend.
High Adventure Sportfishing is currently taking reservations for Spring, Summer and Fall, Lake and River charters.
