Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

March has finally arrived and anglers acorss the state are anticipating a spectacular spring and summer fishing season. With no ice, warm temps and a strong year class of fish and bait, 2002 will be the year to fish Lake Ontario
The salmon river is running at 900 cfs. While many feel this is high water, most guides consider it to be a great flow. The fish will move, feed and not be spooked as they are during the lower water.
Fish bright colored egg sacs and worms while the water is stained. Some fish are beginning to spawn so don't be afraid to work a heavy single hooked spinner through the gravel runs.
I have received some good reports from the Genny, although the water is still high, the guys fishing the cliff side have been getting into good numbers of fish.
The Oswego is dropping and there are plenty of fish at the dam and in the Harbor.
For those concerned about fishing near our nuclear plants, I will have the exact latitude and longitude that will be off limits in an upcoming report. I am told that the Coast Guard will also have the areas heavily marked with buoys.
Good Luck, Troy.
High Adventure Sportfishing is currently taking reservations for Spring, Summer and Fall, Lake and River charters.
Relieve some stress and spend the day on the water with family and friends.
