Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

What a weekend! The brown trout fishing is some of the best we have ever seen. Yes, Ever! Not only are the numbers there, but the big boys that are stocked out of the Caledonia hatchery have found their way to the Oswego area and have set up camp from Oswego east to Mexico Bay. Incredible numbers of fat two year old trout ranging from 6 to 12 pounds are gorgong themselves on baitfish. The bite is on and those who are here have been reaping the rewards.
WALLEYES We are still landing a lot of real nice eyes. This years walleye bite remains the best we have seen in a long time.
The water is getting warmer and they are looking for the baits at a higher spped. Don't be afraid to kick it right up to 2.4 to 2.8. Cover water and hang on. Make sure the baits you are running are tuned and will take the speed. Fishlander and R&R spoons in black and silver, glow, frog, chartreuse and orange are working the best off the riggers. Remember, Constant turns will produce more strikes!
The walleye bite has been sensational somes night and nonexistent others. The strong currents wil move them around and I have to fish them most nights for the next week, so I will let you know.
I have plenty of days open in June and July. Looks like another fantastic year for lake ontario fishing. I am in awe that more people are not cashing in on this great fishing. June and July Special. Book 2 and days take $100.00 off total price.
Go Get Um!
