Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Current Water Conditions: Great
Best Catch Tip:Don't be afraid to fish the warm water
What a Weekend!!
Well, we ran four trips this weekend. We had great weather, great clients and great fishing. While we had to work hard for every fish, we hung tough and landed some dandies.
Our combined catch for 2 days, four trips was 37 salmon and 12 browns. Now keep in mind that many fish were skippies, but that is great news for the next two seasons. We have a real good crop of youngsters out there.
We landed nine salmon over 15 pounds, eleven between 8 and 14 and the rest were sandwich salmon. The browns ranged from 4 to 12 pounds. Our spoon program is taking most of the fish.
We ran Fishlanders in the frog and green dolphin patterns. Raiders and Dreamweavers in black and silver are doing the damage in the bright sun. Speed has been a constant 1.9 to 2.0. I recently installed a Moor sub-troll on my boat and I absolutely love it. It just locks right in.
I fished 120 to 160 feet of water and the temp kept creeping up all weekend. We were fishing down 130 to 150 and by Sunday afternoon 55 degree water was down only 95 feet.
The last few years we have found more salmon lurking in the ice water. This year I am catching most of my salmon in 50 to 60 degree H2O. Go Figure.
That's about it for now. The fish are here waiting for you. Go Get Um, Troy
