New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Capt. Troy Creasy
September 19, 2003
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Current Water Conditions: low and clear and warm

Best Catch Tip:Green Flies and J-Plugs

No Rain for Us!

Again, it looks like Eastern upstate NY will get cheated out of any substantial rainfall. This ten year drought weather pattern really stinks. Southern NY and Pa are already saturated. Now Isabel will dump more on them but as usual miss us.

I still have Friday and Saturday, 9/19 & 9/20. These are prime days for the lake or river

The fishing continues to be good in the Oswego Harbor and off the mouth of the salmon river. There are a lot of fish out there. We will have some real good runs if Isabel really does bring upstate NY any rain. My money says we won't see it. I hope I am wrong. Hurricanes are horrible things but we need a few inches of rain to set up the Fall fishery. I guess we will know in a few days. Since the mid 90's we just don't get measurable rainfall in August, September or October.

The salmon river already has plenty of fish pushing up through the lower end and they are holding in the big pools like the Sportsman. Trestle and Schoolhouse. The river will only get better each day.

You gotta Love it! Go Get Um, Troy
